According to the Conference Board of Canada, consumer confidence in British Columbia ticked higher in November 2024.
Concerning job prospects over the next six months, the number of respondents expressing optimism over future employment conditions continued to move to its lowest levels in survey history while those expecting conditions to remain the same moved higher in November.
Regarding expectations for their household budget over the next six months, the number of respondents who expected an improvement in their finances slightly ticked higher while those who expected conditions to get worse fell. Most respondents still expect their financial situation to remain relatively stable.
Sentiment about making major purchases, like a home or a car, remains at subdued levels but has improved in recent months. The number of respondents who thought it was a bad time to make a major purchase dropped lower in November while the number of those expressing optimism moved higher.
