Okanagan Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in the Okanagan region was 4.7% as of November 2024, up 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.3% below the peak from June 2009 and is below the long-run average.
There were 3,600 more full-time jobs in November 2024 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 4,000 part-time positions led to a decrease of 400 total jobs in November.
Full-time employment was still down 9,500 jobs from the peak in May 2023 but stood 6,700 jobs above the trough in September 2024.
