Okanagan Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in the Okanagan region was 5.4% as of March 2024, down 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.6% below the peak from June 2009 and is below the long-run average.

There were 1,200 fewer full-time jobs in March 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 2,200 part-time positions led to an increase of 1,000 total jobs in March.

Full-time employment was still down 10,100 jobs from the peak in May 2023.
