Victoria Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Victoria was 4.4% as of June 2026, up 0.3% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.8% below the peak from July 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 3,700 fewer full-time jobs in June 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a gain of 900 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 2,800 total jobs in June.

Full-time employment was down 14,200 jobs from the peak in June 2025.
