Victoria Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Victoria was 4.3% as of April 2026, down 0.3% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.9% below the peak from July 2020 and is below the long-run average.
There were 100 more full-time jobs in April 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 2,800 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 2,700 total jobs in April.
Full-time employment was down 5,600 jobs from the peak in June 2025 but stood 3,300 jobs above the trough in January 2026.
