Victoria Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Victoria was 5.1% as of August 2025, up 0.3% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.1% below the peak from July 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 2,400 fewer full-time jobs in August 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 1,100 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 3,500 total jobs in August.
Full-time employment was still down 4,500 jobs from the peak in June 2025.
