Victoria Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Victoria was 3.4% as of September 2024, up 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.7% below the peak from July 2020 and is below the long-run average.
There were 700 fewer full-time jobs in September 2024 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 900 part-time positions led to a decrease of 1,600 total jobs in September.
Full-time employment was still down 2,100 jobs from the peak in June 2024.
