Victoria Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Victoria was 3.7% as of October 2024, up 0.3% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.4% below the peak from July 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 200 fewer full-time jobs in October 2024 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 900 part-time positions led to a decrease of 1,100 total jobs in October.

Full-time employment was still down 2,400 jobs from the peak in June 2024.
