Victoria Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Victoria was 4.2% as of October 2025, down 0.6% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7% below the peak from July 2020 and is below the long-run average.
There were 800 fewer full-time jobs in October 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a gain of 1,100 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 300 total jobs in October.
Full-time employment was still down 6,200 jobs from the peak in June 2025.
