Residential sales activity in Calgary rose in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the fourth quarter of 2023.
Residential property sales numbered 6,780 units in the fourth quarter of 2024, edging up 1.5% compared to the same quarter in 2023.
Sales rose 8.7% for single detached homes, were up 4% for townhouse and row units, and were down 15.6% for apartment units compared to a year earlier in the fourth quarter.
Annually, residential property sales numbered 34,583 units in all of 2024. This was down 0.6% compared to the 34,799 units recorded in 2023.
