Calgary Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Calgary was 7.9% as of November 2024, up 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.6% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 2,800 more full-time jobs in November 2024 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 7,700 part-time positions led to a decrease of 4,900 total jobs in November.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in December 2023 and now stands at a record high.
