Calgary Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Calgary was 7.4% as of April 2025, up 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 8.1% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 14,300 fewer full-time jobs in April 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a gain of 9,600 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 4,700 total jobs in April.
Full-time employment was still down 16,400 jobs from the peak in February 2025.
