Calgary Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Calgary was 7.9% as of October 2025, down 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.6% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 4,100 more full-time jobs in October 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 700 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 3,400 total jobs in October.
Full-time employment was still down 16,000 jobs from the peak in February 2025 but stood 7,900 jobs above the trough in May 2025.
