Winnipeg Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Winnipeg was 5.8% as of October 2024, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.5% below the peak in June 2020 and is on par with the long-run average.
There were 300 fewer full-time jobs in October 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 2,900 part-time positions led to an increase of 2,600 total jobs in October.
Full-time employment was still down 700 jobs from the peak in August 2024.
