Winnipeg Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Winnipeg was 5.8% as of July 2025, up 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.4% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.
There were 8,100 fewer full-time jobs in July 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a gain of 6,200 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 1,900 total jobs in July.
Full-time employment was still down 10,700 jobs from the peak in May 2025.
