Greater Sudbury Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Greater Sudbury was 6% as of February 2025, up 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 4.5% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 200 fewer full-time jobs in February 2025 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 500 part-time positions led to an increase of 300 total jobs in February.

Full-time employment was still down 2,300 jobs from the peak in October 2024.
