Greater Sudbury Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Greater Sudbury was 5.3% as of May 2025, up 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.2% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.
There were 1,500 more full-time jobs in May 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 200 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 1,300 total jobs in May.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in January 2025 and now stands at a record high.
