Greater Sudbury Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Greater Sudbury was 5.2% as of April 2025, down 0.5% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.3% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.
There were 3,100 more full-time jobs in April 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 800 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 2,300 total jobs in April.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in January 2025 and now stands at a record high.
