Greater Sudbury Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Greater Sudbury was 6.2% as of February 2026, down 0.5% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 4.3% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.
There were 2,100 more full-time jobs in February 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 700 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 1,400 total jobs in February.
Full-time employment was down 200 jobs from the peak in June 2025 but stood 4,200 jobs above the trough in November 2025.
