Okanagan Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in the Okanagan region was 3.9% as of June 2024, down 0.4% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 8.1% below the peak from June 2009 and is below the long-run average.
There were 200 more full-time jobs in June 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 600 part-time positions led to an increase of 800 total jobs in June.
Full-time employment was still down 9,800 jobs from the peak in May 2023 but stood 200 jobs above the trough in May 2024.
