Okanagan Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Kelowna was 8.6% as of December 2025, down 2.4% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 2.4% below the peak from November 2025 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 2,500 fewer full-time jobs in December 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a gain of 2,300 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 200 total jobs in December.
Full-time employment was down 3,800 jobs from the peak in October 2025.
