London Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in London was 6.5% as of August 2024, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.1% below the peak in June 2020 and is below the long-run average.
There were 3,900 fewer full-time jobs in August 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 300 part-time positions led to a decrease of 3,600 total jobs in August.
Full-time employment was still down 13,100 jobs from the peak in October 2023.
