London Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in London was 7% as of December 2024, up 0.5% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 4.6% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.
There were unchanged full-time jobs in December 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 400 part-time positions led to an increase of 400 total jobs in December.
Full-time employment was still down 13,100 jobs from the peak in October 2023 but stood 3,600 jobs above the trough in October 2024.
