London Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in London was 7% as of January 2025, down 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 4.6% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.
There were 2,400 more full-time jobs in January 2025 compared to a month earlier. An unchanged number of part-time positions led to an increase of 2,400 total jobs in January.
Full-time employment was still down 10,900 jobs from the peak in October 2023 but stood 6,300 jobs above the trough in October 2024.
