Kamloops Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Kamloops was 8.5% as of May 2025, up 2.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.7% below the peak from April 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 3,200 fewer full-time jobs in May 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 500 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 3,700 total jobs in May.
Full-time employment was still down 3,200 jobs from the peak in April 2025.
