Kamloops Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Kamloops was 4.4% as of September 2026, down 1.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 9.8% below the peak from April 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 1,800 more full-time jobs in September 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 1,700 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 100 total jobs in September.

Full-time employment was down 17,400 jobs from the peak in April 2025 but stood 4,500 jobs above the trough in May 2026.
