Kamloops Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Kamloops was 6.5% as of July 2026, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.7% below the peak in April 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 800 more full-time jobs in July 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 400 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 400 total jobs in July.

Full-time employment was down 21,500 jobs from the peak in April 2025 but stood 800 jobs above the trough in June 2026.
