Hamilton Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Hamilton was 7.3% as of December 2025, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.7% below the peak in June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 3,600 fewer full-time jobs in December 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a gain of 1,700 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 1,900 total jobs in December.
Full-time employment was down 17,800 jobs from the peak in August 2025.
