Hamilton Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Hamilton was 7.5% as of January 2025, up 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.5% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 5,600 fewer full-time jobs in January 2025 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 900 part-time positions led to a decrease of 4,700 total jobs in January.
Full-time employment was still down 13,800 jobs from the peak in October 2024.
