Hamilton Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Hamilton was 7.2% as of March 2025, down 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.8% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 1,700 fewer full-time jobs in March 2025 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 5,200 part-time positions led to an increase of 3,500 total jobs in March.
Full-time employment was still down 17,200 jobs from the peak in May 2024.
