Brantford Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Brantford was 6.5% as of April 2025, up 0.4% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.2% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.

There were 300 fewer full-time jobs in April 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a gain of 800 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 500 total jobs in April.

Full-time employment was still down 7,800 jobs from the peak in May 2024.
