Brantford Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Brantford was 9.9% as of October 2025, up 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 3.8% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.

There were 200 more full-time jobs in October 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 700 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 500 total jobs in October.

Full-time employment was still down 300 jobs from the peak in May 2024 but stood 7,200 jobs above the trough in April 2025.
