Brantford Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Brantford was 9.7% as of September 2025, up 0.3% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 4% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.

There were 1,700 more full-time jobs in September 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 1,500 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 200 total jobs in September.

Full-time employment was still down 200 jobs from the peak in May 2024 but stood 7,200 jobs above the trough in April 2025.
