Brantford Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Brantford was 7.9% as of February 2026, down 0.8% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.8% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.

There were 600 fewer full-time jobs in February 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a gain of 900 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 300 total jobs in February.

Full-time employment was down 3,500 jobs from the peak in May 2024 but stood 3,800 jobs above the trough in April 2025.
