Brantford Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Brantford was 4.8% as of December 2024, down 0.9% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 8.8% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 600 fewer full-time jobs in December 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 1,600 part-time positions led to an increase of 1,000 total jobs in December.

Full-time employment was still down 5,800 jobs from the peak in May 2024 but stood 400 jobs above the trough in October 2024.
