Manitoba Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Manitoba was 5.7% as of May 2025, down 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.6% below the peak from June 2020 and is on par with the long-run average.
There were 1,200 more full-time jobs in May 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 1,600 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 400 total jobs in May.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in August 2024 and now stands at a record high.
