Ontario Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Ontario was 7.8% as of October 2025, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.2% below the peak in June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 21,800 more full-time jobs in October 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 9,400 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 12,400 total jobs in October.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in June 2025 and now stands at a record high.
