Ottawa Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Ottawa was 6.1% as of November 2024, down 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 3.9% below the peak from July 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 3,800 fewer full-time jobs in November 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 4,300 part-time positions led to an increase of 500 total jobs in November.
Full-time employment was still down 3,800 jobs from the peak in October 2024.
