MLS® home sales in Renfrew County remain stable in July; new listings slip month over month but still in line with historical norms

The number of homes sold through the MLS® System of the Renfrew County Real Estate Board totaled 167 units in July 2025. This was a gain of 14.4% from July 2024. Residential sales haven’t hit this level in the month of July in five years.

Home sales were 12.2% above the five-year average and 3.2% below the 10-year average for the month of July.

On a year-to-date basis, home sales totaled 967 units over the first seven months of the year, edging down 0.2% (two sales) from the same period in 2024.

The average price of homes sold in July 2025 was $503,748, a gain of 10.4% from July 2024.

The more comprehensive year-to-date average price was $485,590, nearly unchanged, up only 0.5% from the first seven months of 2024.

The dollar value of all home sales in July 2025 was $84.1 million, an increase of 26.3% from the same month in 2024. The dollar volume of all homes sold hasn’t been this high in the month of July in five years.

The number of new listings saw a moderate decrease of 6% (14 listings) from July 2024. There were 220 new residential listings in July 2025.

New listings were in line with the five-year average and 9.6% below the 10-year average for the month of July.

Active residential listings numbered 551 units on the market at the end of July, edging down 0.2% (one listing) from the end of July 2024.

Active listings were 24% above the five-year average and 19.2% below the 10-year average for the month of July.

Months of inventory numbered 3.3 at the end of July 2025, down from the 3.8 months recorded at the end of July 2024 and below the long-run average of 4.1 months for this time of year. The number of months of inventory is the number of months it would take to sell current inventories at the current rate of sales activity.
