Prince Edward Island Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Prince Edward Island was 8.4% as of October 2024, up 0.3% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 4.8% below the peak from July 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There was an unchanged number of full-time jobs in October 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 200 part-time positions led to an increase of 200 total jobs in October.

Full-time employment was still down 900 jobs from the peak in June 2024.
