Prince Edward Island Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Prince Edward Island was 7.8% as of February 2025, down 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.8% below the peak from July 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There was an unchanged number of full-time jobs in February 2025 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 200 part-time positions led to a decrease of 200 total jobs in February.

Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in December 2024 and now stands at a record high.
