Kingston Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Kingston was 5.6% as of November 2024, down 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.8% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 1,100 more full-time jobs in November 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 1,400 part-time positions led to an increase of 2,500 total jobs in November.

Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in August 2024 and now stands at a record high.
