Kingston Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Kingston was 7% as of March 2024, up 0.5% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.4% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.

There were 500 more full-time jobs in March 2024 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 800 part-time positions led to a decrease of 300 total jobs in March.

Full-time employment was still down 5,600 jobs from the peak in May 2023 but stood 800 jobs above the trough in January 2024.
