Kingston Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Kingston was 7.2% as of April 2025, up 1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.2% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 100 fewer full-time jobs in April 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 700 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 800 total jobs in April.
Full-time employment was still down 600 jobs from the peak in May 2023 but stood 5,400 jobs above the trough in December 2023.
