Guelph Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Guelph was 5.3% as of October 2024, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 9.7% below the peak in June 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 1,200 fewer full-time jobs in October 2024 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 300 part-time positions led to a decrease of 1,500 total jobs in October.

Full-time employment was still down 7,500 jobs from the peak in January 2024.
