Alberta Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Alberta was 7.5% as of November 2024, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.1% below the peak in June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 13,300 more full-time jobs in November 2024 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 3,300 part-time positions led to an increase of 10,000 total jobs in November.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in October 2024 and now stands at a record high.
