Vancouver Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Vancouver was 6.8% as of February 2025, up 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.3% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.

There were 1,100 more full-time jobs in February 2025 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 10,200 part-time positions led to an increase of 11,300 total jobs in February.

Full-time employment was still down 23,800 jobs from the peak in May 2024 but stood 1,100 jobs above the trough in January 2025.
