Vancouver Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Vancouver was 5.4% as of March 2024, down 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 8.1% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 5,900 more full-time jobs in March 2024 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 6,900 part-time positions led to a decrease of 1,000 total jobs in March.

Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in October 2023 and now stands at a record high.
