Vancouver Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Vancouver was 6.3% as of July 2026, down 0.3% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.8% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 13,800 more full-time jobs in July 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 3,800 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 10,000 total jobs in July.
Full-time employment was down 800 jobs from the peak in June 2025 but stood 35,600 jobs above the trough in October 2025.
