Vancouver Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Vancouver was 6.3% as of December 2024, down 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.2% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 7,200 fewer full-time jobs in December 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 11,900 part-time positions led to an increase of 4,700 total jobs in December.
Full-time employment was still down 27,800 jobs from the peak in May 2024.
