Vancouver Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Vancouver was 6.2% as of March 2026, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.9% below the peak in June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 300 fewer full-time jobs in March 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 3,900 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 4,200 total jobs in March.
Full-time employment was down 14,000 jobs from the peak in June 2025 but stood 25,800 jobs above the trough in October 2025.
