Vancouver Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Vancouver was 6.4% as of May 2025, down 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.7% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 12,800 more full-time jobs in May 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 9,100 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 3,700 total jobs in May.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in January 2025 and now stands at a record high.
