Vancouver Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Vancouver was 6.6% as of June 2026, down 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.5% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 9,100 more full-time jobs in June 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 1,100 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 8,000 total jobs in June.
Full-time employment was down 14,900 jobs from the peak in June 2025 but stood 20,100 jobs above the trough in October 2025.
