Vancouver Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Vancouver was 6.4% as of November 2024, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.1% below the peak in June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 200 fewer full-time jobs in November 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 6,600 part-time positions led to an increase of 6,400 total jobs in November.
Full-time employment was still down 19,200 jobs from the peak in May 2024.
