Ontario Employment Trends

 

The unemployment rate in Ontario was 7.5% as of March 2025, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.5% below the peak in June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.

There were 7,300 fewer full-time jobs in March 2025 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 16,800 part-time positions led to an increase of 9,500 total jobs in March.

Full-time employment was down 7,300 jobs from the peak in February 2025.
