National Employment Trends



The unemployment rate in Canada was 6.8% as of November 2025, down 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.7% below the peak from June 2020 and is on par with the long-run average.
There were 26,100 more full-time jobs in November 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a gain of 34,200 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 60,300 total jobs in November.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in August 2025 and now stands at a record high.
